Zoo Atlanta is excited about its newest partnership with Georgia PTA! This year's Georgia PTA membership theme, "WILD About PTA," acknowledges that sometimes it does "take a village" to raise a child. In recognition of the many surrogate families across Georgia, Georgia PTA is embracing Sumatran orangutans Madu and Dumadi as honorary membership chairs for the 2008-2009 school year. Orphaned immediately after birth in 2006, Dumadi was sent to Zoo Atlanta to be raised and cared for by Madu, a proven surrogate mother, and the pair is doing very well.
